On 24 Oct 2015, we held the prize presentation ceremony for 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2015 back at the Institute of Mental Health. The prize presentation was graced by Mayor Maliki Osman with our delightful game master, Becca D’Bus as our emcee. During the ceremony, winning scripts were performed live in the form of dramatised readings, directed by Chen Yingxuan and performed by Alena Kim Chua, Ebi Shankara, Shafiqhah Efandi and Windson Liong.
Following from our earlier post, here’s part 2 with two other winners to share with us their immediate thoughts after winning the competition. Congratulations to the 2nd prize winner in the Open category, Iris Chia and merit prize winner in the Youth category, Tharun Suresh!
Last Saturday, we have announced the winners for our 18th edition of 24-Hour Playwriting Competition. During the Prize Presentation ceremony, we have guests from South-East Community Development Council (SECDC) and Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Congratulations to both our 1st prize winners in the Open category, we have Isaac Lim, and the Youth Category, Zenda Tan.

This Saturday, we will be having a prize presentation ceremony for 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2015! While it has been several months since the competition, let us take a walk down memory lane.
It has been four months since 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2015 and we thank you for patiently waiting for this day. We have finally completed the judging and are ready to announce the results!

The latest issue of South East Contact Magazine, a community magazine of the South East District, featured our recently concluded touring performance of Three Inches of Alive. Written by Clarilyn Khoo, Three Inches of Alive was the winning play from the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2014 (Open Category) which was developed into a full production by theatre professionals. Drawing various inspirations from the unique venue at each competition, 5 stimuli and the quirky-antics from our Game Master; writers get to pen their ideas (or laptop in this digital age) into a play during the 24 hours.
Our engagement team went on a site visit to the Institute of Mental Health last week! During the visit, we were introduced to various spaces, facilities where our Game-Master Becca D’Bus aka Eugene Tan considered as possible spaces, places and inspiration in coming out this year’s competition stimuli.
